  • Growing Pains

One push here…another stretch there…a cramp and unyielding pain elsewhere…

No…it’s not about the growth and change within your child, but it’s the growing pains in your life.  Change is inevitable and many fight it.  It can be embraced and viewed in a positive way, but when it comes as a result of loss (relationship, loved one), it may be difficult to find joy in what may present as heartache.

    Change may present itself as:

    • A relationship that has lost it’s way with both people going in different directions in life, with nothing positive holding them together…
    • A transition from a job or career that does not bring you the fulfillment that you once hoped for…
    • A deep core change in your heart and spirit…
    • A friendship that is costing more than you can or are willing to give…
    • A new look to change your existing environment…
    • A focus on renewing emotional and physical health that perhaps has been ignored for too long…
    • A willingness to put your own ego and pride aside for the better of your life, relationship, and family…

Change doesn’t have to be negative – it’s too easy to turn it in that direction.  Why not intentionally look at change as an opportunity to grow, find joy, prosper, and focus your life in a new and positive direction?

What is within your ability to change?  What can you do each day to take care of yourself and find contentment?  It may be the simple things:

    Laughter…
    Reconnecting with loved ones…
    The smile from your child…
    Listening to your favorite song…
    Offering forgiveness…
Taking a drive, with no particular destination – just to enjoy the ride…
Seeking support to change destructive life patterns…
    Reading a book…
    Seeking forgiveness…
    Writing in a journal…
Letting go of a painful relationship…
    Loving yourself…

    What can you do today?

  • For me when i need to find peace & contentment i’ll either sketch or listen to some music

  • What can I do today? Where to begin would be more like it? Methinks, though, that I’ll get to packing before Mama loses patience with me.
