40 + 85 = LOTS OF LOVE
Today I went to the city to have lunch with my Aunt H. She and I are very close. In fact, I consider her more of a mother than a great-great-aunt. She turns 85 this week so the kids, my parents, and I went to have lunch and spend a bit of time of celebration with her. She knew what her gifts would be because she was very specific about them and I purchased my gifts, but I had to bring them in a box to give to her…so she could give them back to me! (lol)
She is such a wonderful, godly woman. She gives of herself to others and wants to live a life of servanthood. She has for certain. She teaches and mentors me on how to become a woman of God. She has gone through much in her life and can speak and share from her experiences. The kids love to ask her questions and although sometimes I get concerned about loneliness and sadness she may experience, she speaks of her parents and siblings often. She shares memories she has. She is the last child alive out of 14 siblings. I find it amazing. My uncle passed away about 5 years ago and before alzheimers took hold of his body and mind, he was the most loving, attentive godly man I’ve ever seen and heard of. I love to hear her share about all the wonderful things he used to do for her. He treated her like queen. He adored her. She says they rarely fought and he was always so loving and attentive – even when she would get stubborn and angry. She said, he always knew what to say and how to treat her. She says that’s what a real man of God can do. There is no doubt of her feelings when she speaks of him. You can still hear the love in her voice and see the sparkle in her eye. I pray that God can send me a man like that in my life.
Sadly, all the siblings and their spouses have gone on to heaven, so she is the matriarch of our family. She is to be loved, honored and respected – and she is. My children and I love her deeply. I speak with her almost every day (if I don’t, she threatens to get the spoon!), and she is not only a revered family member, but I look up to her and she lovingly is my friend. My family is blessed to have her…I know I sure am…

Wonderful memories!! Thanks for sharing! After the death of my parents (2007) I have rekindled my relationship with the remaining 4 aunts that I have….MILES kept us apart. I hope my nieces do the same for me someday!!
that is too cool! isn’t it great to have family you know you can depend on and who love you for you? she sounds like an amazing woman!
Thank you for your kind words and prayers…………you have a beautiful family…………..hugs.
There really wasn’t any point to the fake seduction, I just thought found his reaction amusing since we’re very brother/sisterly and there’s no way that anything could or would happen between us.
