  • Room Redecorating

A while ago I talked about the changes I was working on to change my
home environment. I have always enjoyed the fact that my home is a
place where friends and family can stop by and hang out, but the decor
didn’t really match the look I wanted. I am no decorator by any means,
but I immediately can appreciate the feeling of comfort and peace when
I walk into certain homes. I love to look at new model homes because I
want to borrow some of the simple decor ideas that are displayed.

    So…I
wanted to show you what I’ve done so far. There is still work to be
done on the inside, outside, garage, garden, backyard…you get the
idea. But, I have to be patient and work on one project at a time.
Sometimes I’ll get a wild hair and become very frustrated with what I
see. Then I do something like painting the kitchen, weeding the back
and side yard, or try to make some change.

    I’ve always wanted my
front room painted and to remove the clutter that seemed always
present. I was intimidated at the prospect of painting my 15′-18′
ceilings, but with determination and some frustrated tears – I got it
done. I chose “Restrained Gold” for most of the room and “Theatre Red”
for the accent wall. I also purchased new furniture from a place that I
    love – overstock.com, and the
transformation started to take shape…I plan to add some palms or
ferns to soften the look. I love photographs so I’m adding family
photos throughout the house. I have one wall that is going to be the
‘travel wall’ which will have photos from places the kids and I have
visited – Italy, the Bahamas, Mendicino coast, etc…
