I spent a couple of days with family and friends en route to pick up my daughter from Papa & Grammy’s house. Since Cody was injured I chose to take him with me. It was a tough ride at times, but we made it in one piece. The boys were giving me a report about Cody’s condition every 2 seconds, but I appreciated that they were so concerned about his health & welfare.

We first visited the grooming shop that is owned by my parents. Cody was going to get the family discount for a bath & haircut – the family discount meant that the family does the work! :)

He looks so different! With his hair cut so short, he looks like a puppy instead of an old man!

I went to visit my friend Irene – she and I have known each other since we were 11 years old. We have gone through, and supported each other in very difficult times. We have been able to share things with each other without fear of judgment or betrayal (and that’s tough since we both have had issues with trust). I am so proud of how she has progressed in life and grateful for her friendship. I am most thrilled about her decision to turn her life to the Lord. This is something that I had always prayed for and am so excited at her zeal and desire to continue to develop her spiritual life.

She and her husband are part of this wonderful ministry called Cross Motorcycle Ministries. During the summer they host a weekly bible study at an outdoor drive in (you know with all the wonderful fried food!). They have music, t-shirts, raffles, prayer time, and even a weekly motorcycle competition. It was wonderful to see smiling faces and people worshiping the Lord. There were Harley’s everywhere! I almost wanted to come home with one .

We took the small kids to the beach in Santa Cruz county. I love the beach and with every vacation I want to be near the ocean. So the kids had a great time. Cody even ventured into the water a bit (paw-high), but it was a relaxing time.

Well, the kids are in Orlando, Florida. They arrived about an hour ago after traveling most of the day. They all are excited although my understanding is that the weather is less than desireable. It’s raining and humid, however I don’t think that will damper their spirits and they have a week of fun to look forward to.

I’m doing ok. Eh has been kind enough to keep me posted on their travel. I feel a bit better about it all. Since I’ve been doing so much running around and driving over the past couple of days, I’m lying low and staying in bed…sleeping off and on…watching my favoriite shows on TIVO…so I’m doin’ ok. The past couple of days, I have felt stress, anxiety, and sadness about them leaving and it had impacted the way I communicated with him. I’m better now…

So…below is more photos of my trip and of motorcycles too!
